Torn Space Theater approaches Matthew L\u00f3pez\u2019s play as an exploration of identity as performance. At its center is Casey, a struggling Elvis impersonator whose sense of self begins to unravel when his livelihood disappears. What follows is not a sudden transformation, but a gradual recognition: the version of masculinity he has been performing all along is no less constructed than the world he is about to enter.<\/p>\n

Set within a shifting landscape of barrooms, performance stages, backrooms and domestic spaces, the production examines how identity is constructed, fractured, rehearsed, and sustained.<\/p>\n

As roles shift and expectations collapse, the play invites audiences to consider where authenticity resides, and whether it exists at all.<\/p>\n
