Torn Space invites audiences to traverse the indoor and outdoor spaces of its campus on the corner of Fillmore and Paderewski on Buffalo’s east side to experience the multimedia performance that will include projections, video installation, salon-style artist conversations and culminate in an evening dance party in the theater.
Experience a 10 year cycle of site-specific works at Silo City in an immersive multimedia installation performance spanning the Torn Space campus located on the corner of Fillmore Avenue and Paderewski on Buffalo’s east side.
The performance will feature video installations in the theater and the adjoining studio space, outdoor projections onto the building, an interactive salon-style artist conversation, community toasts, and will culminate in a cathartic dance party designed by Groupwork’s Frank Napolski. This wander-through experience hearkens back to Torn Space’s highly popular “Prom of the Dead” fundraiser with multiple spaces within the campus simultaneously activated by multimedia installation elements. Video designer Brian Milbrand will remount his reel projection film from Torn Space’s 2014 Silo City performance Storehouse, screening it for the first time since the production where it was filmed, processed and played within the course of each live performance. The building where Storehouse took place is now being developed into luxury lofts.
Join us for this unique performance celebration of what was and what is the Torn Space mythology at the silos, including behind-the-scenes conversations of how it all came to be. As always, the classic Mickiewicz bar will be open, offering a wide selection of delicious craft Eastern European beer and spirits.
